Accessibility and reading options.
We want this resource to work for people with different access needs, devices and ways of reading.
Our target
Our target is WCAG 2.2 Level AA (opens an external website). We have reviewed shared code and colour contrast, but have not completed a full browser and assistive-technology audit. We are not claiming verified conformance.
Make reading work for you
- Open Reading settings on any page to enlarge text up to 200%, choose light, dark or high-contrast appearance, increase line spacing or reduce motion. Your preferences stay in this browser.
- Pause automatic updates to keep the current content, opening totals and artwork still. Reloading loads the latest state; manual controls still work. When paused, reload the jobs page to remove newly expired listings.
- Use the keyboard to reach links and controls. Open Menu or Browse sections to explore the site. Tab moves between links and expansion buttons; Enter or Space expands a group, and Escape closes the menu. Selecting a collection moves focus to its content. Nested topic filters use arrow keys.
- Use Skip to content where navigation precedes the page, or use headings and landmarks with a screen reader. Card squares include a labelled return-to-section button.
Known limitations and checks still needed
- End-to-end keyboard and screen-reader testing, mobile touch testing, and browser checks at high zoom and custom text spacing remain outstanding.
- Newsletter PDFs contain selectable text but are not tagged for reliable reading order and heading navigation. Each archived newsletter has a complete HTML version linked beside the PDF download; use that version with a screen reader.
- Source articles and podcast pages open on other websites, whose accessibility we do not control. Transcript availability is labelled when checked; a podcast without a verified transcript may not meet your needs.
