The finding or development

The method combined group identification of technologies, individual experience plotting and collaborative discussion. Participants identified 14 technologies, added 92 experience annotations and developed nine themes in 4.5 hours across three groups.

What supports it

Peer-reviewed empirical case study of a three-phase Collaborative UX Curve with 10 hospice practitioners in three groups, covering two care processes and a three-year recall period.

Why it matters for design

A practical, theory-informed approach for studying long-term experience when several technologies support one organisational process and repeated longitudinal measurement is difficult.

Read with this in mind

Tested in one hospice with 10 all-female practitioners and no patients, without comparison against another long-term UX method. Recall remains retrospective; group participation removes several staff from clinical duties; colour-coded materials may exclude people with visual impairments.
