The finding or development
No participant completed every navigation task. Terminology and grouping findings informed a proposed library navigation redesign organised around everyday functions. Institutional approval indicated feasibility, not demonstrated usability improvement.
What supports it
Peer-reviewed mixed-methods case: access logs, usability testing (24 students), terminology questionnaire (58) and card sorting (20).
Reviewed: Publisher methods, findings, redesign proposal and limitations reviewed 31 October 2026; raw data and complete task protocol not reviewed.
Why it matters for design
A practical example of connecting several research methods to specific navigation decisions in an educational service.
Read with this in mind
Voluntary undergraduate samples aged 20–22 from one university centre exclude other library users. No post-implementation test establishes improvement. The introduction calls sorting open, while the methods call it closed.
